The Peace Garden: from grief to reconciliation
A memorial and peace garden now stand near the camp site — a place of reflection and a symbol of the friendship that grew between Featherston and Japan.

From grief grew reconciliation. Over decades, Featherston and communities in Japan have built relationships of friendship and remembrance, transforming a site of conflict into a symbol of peace.
The peace garden is visited each year by descendants, community members and visitors from Japan.
